Making Of
The work originates in the process of forming gesso.
As the material is pushed from behind, the surface lifts and fractures, catching light across its facets. In that moment, it no longer reads as surface, but as form.
Each piece is built slowly, shaped from within. Irregularity and variation are retained.
Light is introduced as a narrow aperture. It does not define the work, but reveals it.
